Detroit Lions cornerback Morice Norris left Friday night's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons after suffering what looked to be a serious head/neck injury.

Norris left the field in an ambulance after sustaining the injury, with the Lions sharing he was transported to a local Atlanta hospital for further evaluation.

Rather than continuing on with the game after Norris' injury, the Lions and Falcons mutually agreed to let the clock run on the rest of the fourth quarter until the contest was formally suspended.

Thankfully, Lions coach Dan Campbell provided a positive update in the postgame press conference, saying that Norris was breathing, talking and showing some movement, per ESPN's Marc Raimondi. More tests will be run.

This is one of the scarier situations in recent NFL history, but early word sounds positive for Norris' general health.

We'll keep you updated once we hear more about Norris and his condition.

Who is Morice Norris?

Norris was an undrafted cornerback out of Fresno State in 2024. He spent the bulk of his rookie season on the Lions' practice squad. He joined Detroit's active roster late in the 2024 season.
