GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A new mixed-use development is planned for Laurens Road in Greenville, featuring 244 residential units and retail space.

The project, called Enclave Laurens, includes 10% workforce housing, aligning with the Greenville 2040 Plan aimed at addressing affordable housing and open space.

"People that are here do need a place to stay," said Greenville resident Rashanda Austin. "Hopefully it'll be something that's more affordable just because we have a lot of poverty in our area."

Ian Patton, another local resident, expressed concerns about rising prices, saying, "I don't want the prices to go up. I still think it's pretty expensive. It's getting more expensive day by day."

Currently, the site is a vacant lot with rusted fencing and discarded materials.
