AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The 20th annual Dolly Day-Lazarou Open was held on Friday in Amsterdam, and 140 golfers hit the green in support of the United Way of the Greater Capital Region.
The outing brought together golfers for a day of fun and friendly competition to raise money for the United Way's initiatives. It's held in honor of Costa and Aristotle "Dolly" Lazarou, both WWII Navy veterans.
Chris Sherlock, the founder of Dolly Day, said the annual event is the perfect way to give back to the local community.
"I feel that it is very important to give back to our community of Amsterdam," she said. "This has always been my home, and the people that come to this golf tournament feel the same."
