Warren church hosts summer academy

WARREN — Local children have spent the past two weeks getting ready for the new school year with a focus on reading, but also learning about God.

Trinity Baptist Church hosted the “Bridging the Gap Summer Academy” for 30 elementary-school aged children entering first to fourth grades.

Michelle Rodgers, program coordinator, said this was the first year for the academy which was covered by a $20,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley received in 2024.
