EDITORIAL: Prepare kids now for new school cell phone rules

It’s called the “Distraction-Free Schools” Law.

With the idea that cell phones and other such devices have become so prevalent that they’re distracting from the educational mission and contributing to bullying and other undesired behavior, the state earlier this year passed a law to prohibit all unsanctioned student use of internet-connected devices during school hours — even during study halls, recess and between classes.
