Bank station is a well-known nexus for City of London workers. Transport for London (TfL) reports that Bank and the nearby Monument station see over 120 million passengers in a typical year.
In recent years, the station has been upgraded to accommodate the increasing number of passengers. It provides four services: Northern, Central, DLR and the Waterloo and City lines.
Earlier this year, the Bank branch of the Northern line was closed as part of a project aimed at increasing the station's capacity by 40 per cent. TfL expects the works to be completed by the end of the year.
However, the bustling station hasn't always been so polished. Go back about 30 years, and Bank station was in a sorry state.
