A city-led task force formed a new framework for how its publicly owned lands could be envisioned for housing or other developments this summer, with the main goal of being less "prescriptive" requirements for some projects.
Missoula Mayor Andrea Davis and other city officials told reporters on Thursday that the framework could affect more than 45 acres of city-owned land that has been eyed for redevelopment for things like affordable housing.
She added that one property, the Southgate Crossing in the Midtown Neighborhood , is inching closer to a deal with a private developer, which one Missoula resident claims is an out-of-state company.
