LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- An apartment complex took on water Friday morning, flooding apartments from the outside until some residents were ankle-deep and in a desperate rush to stop the deluge, a tenant told the 8 News Now Investigators.

Barry Hammond, just home from the hospital and recovering from a broken hip, said water headed straight into his one-bedroom unit at the East Harmon Apartments in Las Vegas and didn't stop for over two hours. Hammond and his fiancée moved into the sprawling, multi-structure residential apartment complex about six weeks ago, he said.

"We're still just getting set," Hammond told the 8 News Now Investigators.
