There’s a lot coming at regional council next week, which is in the process of selecting its next member.

A speakers’ list with the names of 44 applicants , has been posted ahead of Thursday’s special meeting to fill the council seat vacated due the death of former Coun. Kari Williams.

Applications include a wide cross-section of experience and expertise in the private, public, municipal, academic and social service sectors.

Each applicant — their order determined by a draw streamed on YouTube — will get up to five minutes to speak to council members, and each member of council may ask one question and one followup question of each applicant, before voting to ultimately select one of the 44.
