Waterloo city council is moving cautiously to remember the past, designating two more historic buildings while slowly advancing a museum renovation that could cost up to $10 million.
Council targeted up to 14 buildings for heritage designations in February, but pulled back in May to designate only two buildings after most owners objected.
Owner consent is not required but “it is considered best practice to work with willing property owners,” a city report says.
