It’s a title trifecta for blind lawn bowler Louise McLean.

The 69-year-old Kitchener resident won her third national crown at the Canadian Para Bowls Championships at the Nepean Lawn Bowls Club, which wrapped up this past weekend.

McLean took up lawn bowling after losing her sight due to a brain tumour in 2004 and competes in the B2 women’s singles category.

The retired University of Waterloo custodian went a perfect 7-0 with her guide and director Carolyn LaRue-Campbell by her side.

McLean will try to take the momentum into her next tournament — the 2025 Atlantic International Challenge next month in Windsor.
