The Grand River Conservation Authority is launching a drone inspection of the flood protection wall on the west bank of the Grand River in the Galt area of Cambridge.

The west bank of the Grand River, from James Street to 5th Avenue, will be observed on Thursday and Friday, weather permitting, to support upcoming rehabilitation work to the flood protection wall.

In a news release, the GRCA stated licensed drone pilots from AECOM Canada ULC will perform the survey, in compliance with all applicable Transport Canada regulations.

The purpose of the inspection is to review the overall wall condition and highlight areas of interest for the structural engineer to investigate in further detail. The survey will review shoreline location, water elevation, location of trees, vegetation and other
