IONIA — Prosecutors have charged a 45-year-old woman in connection with a March crash on Interstate 96 that hospitalized four high school students.

Angela Lynne Fitzgerald was charged by the Ionia County Prosecutor's Office with eight counts, including two felony counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, and three misdemeanor counts of operating while impaired - occupant under 16, misdemeanor operating while intoxicated, and two misdemeanor counts of moving violation causing serious impairment of body function.

Fitzgerald was arraigned in 64A District Court on Aug. 6. She was released on a $5,000 surety bond on Aug. 7.
