The federal government’s investments into the country’s armed forces will have a direct impact on hundreds of North Bay residents.

Nipissing—Timiskaming MP Pauline Rochefort welcomed the news Friday following the news from Prime Minister Mark Carney of a $2 billion investment in compensation and benefits for the Canadian Armed Forces.

“I am delighted to see the hard-working men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces recognized in a meaningful way. For both regular and reserve forces, a competitive wage is essential as we attempt to bolster our ranks through recruitment and retention,” Rochefort stated in a media release.
