So it's official. The best takeaway, as voted for by Nottinghamshire Live readers, has been decided. Following weeks of nominations and vote-casting, Ruddington Fish Bar was named the winner of the Notts Bites food and drink awards takeaway category, and its owner Demetrios Lawton couldn't be happier.

With ketchup for blood and a fish cake for a heart, Demetrios was born to be a chippy man. Raised in Stafford, he started peeling potatoes and serving customers from the age of 12 at his family's business.
