State pensioners are facing the potential loss of a crucial £83 weekly payment. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has warned that people cannot receive the full amount of both Carer's Allowance and their State Pension simultaneously.
If your pension is £83.30 a week or more, you will not be eligible for a Carer's Allowance payment. However, if your pension is less than £83.30 a week, you'll receive a Carer's Allowance payment to bridge the gap.
The DWP further clarifies that if your State Pension exceeds £83.30 a week, while you won't receive a Carer's Allowance payment, your Pension Credit payments will increase instead.
