A heat warning for the Sudbury area is in effect until Monday, with daytime highs of 30–33 degrees C and humidex values of up to 40.
Overnight lows near 20 degrees C will offer little relief, Environment Canada said. A cooler air mass is expected Monday evening, however. Starting Tuesday, temperature highs in the Sudbury area will be in the mid-20s, the weather agency said.

“Although some individuals are at higher risk, anyone can suffer from heat-related illnesses,” Burgess Hawkins, a manager with Public Health Sudbury and Districts’ Health Protection Division, said in a release. “Everyone should take precautions.”
