Local schools are starting the academic year strong when it comes to food safety.
Between Aug. 1 and 8, Pinal County Environmental Health Department officials visited seven school kitchens and one culinary arts facility, rating each as “excellent.” That’s the equivalent of an A+.
Health inspectors visited the following school kitchens:
Aug. 4: Santa Cruz Elementary School
Aug. 4: Sequoia Pathway Academy K-6
Aug. 4: Sequoia Pathway Academy Secondary
Aug. 5: Maricopa Elementary School
Aug. 5: Maricopa High School
Aug. 5: Maricopa High School’s Culinary Arts Building
Aug. 6: Leading Edge Academy
Aug. 6: Saddleback Elementary School

Excellent: All priority standards are observed as compliant.
