Bristol Rovers player ratings vs Fleetwood: Omochere off the mark but defeat again for the Gas

Bristol Rovers began their League Two campaign with back-to-back defeats after a 2-1 loss at Fleetwood Town on Saturday afternoon.

Rovers had a decent opportunity to open the proceedings as Jack Sparkes delivered a lovely cross for Promise Omochere, who headed over the crossbar.

Two poor defensive moments from the Gas were taken advantage of by Fleetwood forward Will Davies on both occasions to put the hosts into a commanding lead at the break.

Rovers improved at the start of the second half with Jay Lynch forced into a good save before Luke Southwood was also required to make a diving save.

The Gas were then handed a route back into the game as Omochere was brought down in the penalty area
