Misconduct at an emergency: Carlton Park
An apartment resident, saying she feared for her cats, was arrested and charged with misconduct at an emergency after she was accused of disobeying orders from police and fire officials not to reenter an apartment building where a fire had just been extinguished.
The police and fire departments at 12:35 a.m. on July 25 responded to the apartment building regarding a fire in the east wing. Residents of that wing were told they could not return to their apartments because of structural damage. A woman asked police and fire officials multiple times to let her into her apartment to retrieve her cats.
Firefighters checked her residence and could not find the cats. The woman became agitated and used a curse word against firefight
