Guy Fieri is mourning the loss of his friend and fellow chef John Ash, who passed away at age 83. The Food Network personality shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram Stories on Saturday, Parade reports.

“RIP to my friend a great chef and culinary inspiration to the wine country,” Fieri, 57, wrote alongside a photo of Ash smiling and holding a glass of wine.

According to the Sonoma News-Index , Ash died on Thursday from a heart condition after a brief illness. His children confirmed the news to the publication.
