PINE RIVER — People cooled down by the Pine River as they walked on the rocks, jumped from the docks and employed float rings on the water on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, in Pine River. Temperatures rose to the upper-80s on Thursday with a heat index pushing toward 90 degrees considering the high humidity.

Continued hot conditions are expected Friday and Saturday, giving the area's abundant water resources extra appeal.
