A pedestrian has been hospitalized after they were hit by an Orange County Fire Rescue Department ambulance in Kissimmee on Saturday.

According to a statement from the Orange County Fire Rescue Department, the crash happened at 11:05 a.m. at the intersection of John Young Parkway and Oak Street in Kissimmee. An OCFRD ambulance was on its way to Orlando Regional Hospital in connection with a separate incident when it struck a pedestrian.

“We did see that there was a person … trapped under the ambulance,” said Sheila Rodriguez, who works nearby. “Then we saw all of the rescue trucks and ambulances coming from everywhere.”
