A man who was assaulted at an assisted living facility last month has died, police said.

The victim, 42-year-old Lance W. Allen, died Friday from injuries sustained in the assault, according to the New London Police Department .

The death comes just days after police arrested 28-year-old Matthew Ellis in connection with the incident on July 7. Ellis has been charged with first-degree assault, police said.
