RAPID CITY, S.D. — As the 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally winds down, a major dealership in Rapid City is reporting a record-breaking year for sales. Black Hills Harley-Davidson announced that its annual "Rally at Exit 55" event has been breaking records. As of Thursday night, the dealership sold 722 motorcycles at its Rapid City location alone, beating its previous rally record of 716.
Combined with sales from its new vendor tent in Sturgis, management expects to sell over 1,000 bikes by the time the event ends on Sunday. The dealership reported that its Sturgis location, a new venture this year, has already sold over 200 motorcycles.
