On Saturday at 3:52 p.m. an air quality alert was reported by the National Weather Service in effect until Sunday at 4 p.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Rockland and Westchester counties.

"The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for the following counties: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Westchester, and Rockland From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone.
