EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The sound of a Vietnam-era Huey helicopter will soar over Evansville on August 9 and 10, as the Evansville Wartime Museum hosts public flights.

Visitors can experience a ride in the historic UH-1H Iroquois "Huey" helicopter from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The flights, provided by Columbus Indiana Huey Inc., will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with tickets sold on-site.

"This aircraft is a symbol of service, sacrifice, and the era that defined a generation," said the museum's events committee.

While ground tours will not be available, regular museum admission applies, and Huey ride tickets are sold separately. Veterans and active-duty military can enjoy discounted admission.
