Italy continued their unbeaten summer run ahead of EuroBasket 2025 with a convincing 91–75 win over Latvia in Trieste.
Simone Fontecchio was the standout performer, scoring 21 points, while Pippo Ricci added 16. Nicolò Melli (13), Matteo Spagnolo (12), and Marco Spissu (11) also reached double figures.
The Azzurri started strong with a 7–0 run and held a narrow 46–43 lead at halftime, with Fontecchio already on 13 points. Latvia stayed close through the third quarter, but Italy’s decisive burst between the end of the third and the start of the fourth proved too much.
Coach Gianmarco Pozzecco’s side tightened their defense, holding Latvia to just 12 points in the final period to seal the win well before the buzzer.
Latvia was led by Kristaps Porzingis and Kristers Zoriks with 14 point
