CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have issued a warning after at least 18 recent ATM thefts at businesses across the city.
The crimes happened in downtown, including the Near North Side and Near West Side, and on the Northwest Side, West Side and Southwest Side, CPD said.
Two recent thefts on the West Side were caught on video, police said.

In each theft, a group of two to five male suspects in a stolen or rented SUV broke or pried open the window of a business with a prying tool, police said.
In most cases, CPS said the suspects stole an ATM from inside the business and loaded it into the vehicle. In some cases, they stole money from inside the ATM before fleeing the scene.
