WESTBROOK, Connecticut — The body of a missing 38-year-old Westbrook man was found Saturday in the water he disappeared in over a week ago.

Andrew Corbett, who was last seen on the evening of Wednesday, July 30, was discovered dead in Westbrook’s Messerschmidt Pond.

The outcome was confirmed by a spokesperson with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection on Saturday afternoon.

On the evening of Friday, Aug. 1, a paddler found an unoccupied, overturned canoe on the banks of Messerschmidt Pond, the CT DEEP official said.

EnCon police officers with CT DEEP responded to the scene and located a vehicle and personal belongings nearby believed to be Corbett’s.
