It was a tale of two plays for Jaxson Dart . One bad, one excellent.
On the sixth play of his second ever preseason drive, the Giants rookie quarterback felt the pocket collapsing and fired out a pass intended for one of his oft-covered receivers. Alas, before we could see who Dart was targeting, Bills defensive end Michael Hoecht swatted it away, which would have led to an interception if Joe Andreessen could hang onto it.
It was a messy sequence all around — and nearly costly for the 22-year-old QB.
But Dart didn’t flinch. The very next play, he showed exactly why the Giants traded up for him.
Hit as he was thrown, Dart managed to air out an excellent deep ball to Lil’Jordan Humphrey down the sidelines for a 29 yard touchdown. His timing was near perfect. His mechanics were sound
