STATEN ISLAND, N.Y . – Sunny skies and comfortable weather were perfect for Saturday’s seventh annual Geek Out At Staten Island – a convention dedicated to celebrating, encouraging, and promoting geek culture right in your backyard.
Fans attended the convention at PS 59, The Harbor View School, and along the North Shore Esplanade , in West Brighton.
The convention was started by Najah Abdul-Qawiyy, the Arts and Culture Director of the Muslim Sisters of Staten Island, in July 2019. It celebrates important elements of geek culture, such as cosplay, while also celebrating diversity and creativity.
