A Northside Jacksonville barbershop gave away backpacks with school supplies on Saturday morning.
William Parker has owned Miracle Cutz on Dunn Avenue for over 12 years.
“Every year we do annual gift bags for the church in the community,” Parker said. “So we’re going to make sure that every kid that comes to this barbershop, they leave with a book bag full of school supplies.”
This is the fifth year that Parker has given out backpacks.
“The kids matter to us so we want to make sure the kids are good so that they can make sure we are good,” Parker said.
He said he loves seeing the smiles on kids’ faces when they get their backpacks.
“This is the best thing I could ever see in this community,” Parker said. “As long as I can put a smile on the kid’s face, that’s what it’s all about.”
