(FOX40.COM) -- The discovery of a dead woman found at a campsite recently turned into a homicide investigation, and a suspect was arrested, according to the Sierra County Sheriff's Office. • Video Above: What happens when you call 911?

On Friday morning, SCSO received information about a possible dead body at a dispersed campsite south of the Sierra Brooks community. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a dead woman and an "incoherent" man at the site.

Because of the "suspicious circumstances," the California Department of Justice Bureau of Forensic Science and detectives from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office were requested to assist in the investigation.
