IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) - The quarterback carousel has spun in Iowa City for the last several years, and Hawkeye fans have experienced a bumpy ride.

But they’re hoping senior Mark Gronowski will captain a smooth trip in 2025. Gronowski finally gave fans something to cheer for, as he quarterbacked an open scrimmage at full speed.

Gronowski had offseason shoulder surgery, but had some zip in the eleven-on-eleven scrimmage. He also ran for a touchdown.

It was not all smooth sailing for Gronowski, who had a couple fumbled snaps, and an interception.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz said that is par for the course for any quarterback, even a senior, during fall camp. Overall he likes what he’s seeing from his starting quarterback.
