A 61-year-old man who went missing Wednesday in Fairbanks was found deceased Saturday afternoon, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Tony Peter was last seen by family members around 3 p.m. Wednesday at Everts Air. A trail camera shows Peter walking north from the Tanana levee area on Peger Road about 11:30 p.m. while barefoot and wearing a T-shirt and cargo shorts. His truck and phone were found abandoned Thursday morning.
Volunteer search and rescue teams searched the area Friday and Saturday. The public was asked not to conduct foot searches in the wooded areas to avoid disrupting their work.
Alaska State Troopers requested that residents with security cameras in the area near Peger Road and Van Horn Road review footage and look for Peter after he was initially reported missing.
