DETROIT — Charlie Morton spent most of this year grinding to get back to pitching like himself again.
The 41-year-old, two-time World Series champion had an ERA over 10 by the end of the first month of the season with the Baltimore Orioles and took until late May to notch his first quality start.
He began to find his footing, posting a 2.88 ERA in June, before getting traded at the deadline to the Detroit Tigers, where there’s a necessity that he pitch well.
