Nationwide Building Society has provided details on a new feature being rolled out for certain customers. A person approached the provider as they were attempting to add a payee and asked whether they could use an alternative verification method other than their card reader.

They explained they had recently switched their current account and kept forgetting to bring their card reader with them. They mentioned they would rather use biometrics on the mobile app if this was available.

Nationwide replied with some advice: "By setting up account biometrics in our banking app, you can use face recognition instead of your card reader to do most things."
