It wasn't always the case that Bitcoin ( BTC 1.69% ) was constantly in the news and always catching the attention of investors. In the early days, this digital asset flew under the radar. It was mainly viewed as a fun project for so-called "cypherpunks" who were interested in individual freedoms and a new financial order.
