Saturday night update: A stubborn “wedge” of cooler air that’s been parked over us is finally starting to weaken, and our winds are slowly turning more easterly. That’s helping to bring in a bit more moisture, especially south of I-20, so scattered showers are still possible this evening, mainly in southern and eastern spots. The air aloft is still on the dry side, so we’re not expecting much thunder tonight. Fog shouldn’t be a widespread problem thanks to the breeze, but a few sheltered spots might see some by sunrise.

Sunday is looking like the wetter day of the weekend. Winds from the southeast will pump in deep tropical moisture. Combine that with an approaching surface trough and some upper-level energy, and we’re set for numerous showers and a few rumbles of thunder.
