Pete Alonso is now rubbing shoulders with Darryl Strawberry for most home runs in New York Mets history.

Alonso cracked his 252nd home run off the Brewers' Tobias Myers — a 413-foot solo home run to left-center field — in the second inning of the Mets' 7-4 loss on Saturday night at American Family Field.

He joined Strawberry atop the franchise record book after Strawberry hit the same number between his rookie season in 1983 and 1990.

"It means a lot," Carlos Mendoza told reporters. "We're talking about a mark that it's not easy to get to, especially with how many great players have put on this uniform. For Pete to be able to tie it, it's something special for him and for all of us. We're proud of him."
