NHS specialists have called on those eligible for a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) jab to get vaccinated following a spike in cases across Australia.
Australia experienced unprecedented RSV cases last year, with NHS bosses noting that the Australian winter frequently serves as a reliable predictor for virus patterns in England. From the beginning of 2025, the infection has been steadily increasing, with almost half of documented cases affecting youngsters under five.
