Ramón Laureano singled in Xander Bogaerts from second base with no outs in the 10th inning as the Padres beat the Red Sox 5-4 Saturday.

With runners on first and second and the infield drawn in, Laureano, obtained from Baltimore at the trade deadline, hit a chopper off off Garrett Whitlock (5-2) over third baseman Alex Bregman into left field.

Laureano’s impression of his new teammates? “The culture? Everybody’s a grinder. Everybody’s a gamer and all we want to do is win a World Series,” he said during the Padres’ post-game interview.

Bogaerts, who had a big game against his former team, scored. He homered, had an RBI single and walked.

Boston’s Roman Anthony tied it in the ninth when a ground-rule double off All-Star closer Robert Suarez brought in Ceddanne Rafaela.
