Skin-tight leggings and skinny jeans can restrict movement and reduce blood flow

British travellers are being warned that their airline clothing choices could pose health risks during flights. Constricting or tight garments can exacerbate discomfort during extended periods of sitting and may heighten the likelihood of health complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

The World Health Organisation warns that remaining seated for over four hours whilst travelling can elevate DVT risk - a serious condition involving blood clot formation in the legs. Contributing factors include lack of movement, impaired blood flow and pressure on lower extremities - all potentially worsened by clothing choices.
