The incident occurred at the convenience store in Mansfield Woodhouse

An arrest has been made after a knifepoint robbery at a Nottinghamshire Tesco store. A man entered the Tesco Express in Mansfield Woodhouse at around 5pm on Thursday (August 7) and produced a knife.

Nottinghamshire Police said he quickly left the scene, at Leeming Lane North and was stopped at nearby Kingsley Avenue by response, neighbourhood and tactical support group teams. A police car was damaged following the arrest.

Jamie Meek, aged 40, of Baggaley Crescent, Mansfield , has now been charged with robbery, possession of a knife in a public place and two counts of criminal damage.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (9 August) and was remanded in custody until his next appearan
