Stephen Silver was discharged on Tuesday (August 12) afternoon

A Notts County fan who was taken ill just before the club's first game of the season has been discharged from hospital. Two air ambulances were called to Newport County's Rodney Parade stadium, which was evacuated on August 2 .

The fan, Stephen Silver , was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Heath, Cardiff in a "serious but stable" condition. Issuing an update on Tuesday, August 12, Notts County said the fan was due to be discharged.

The club wrote on X: "We're delighted to report that Stephen Silver will be discharged from hospital this afternoon."
