HELENA — After a long wait, the Montana high school football season is just a few weeks away.

Teams like Helena Capital, Billings Central, Malta and Fairview will look to defend their state championships from 2024 , while 6-Man champion Box Elder won't be able to defend its title after a move up to 8-Man football. That means there will be at least one new state championship team this season.

As we look ahead to the 2025 high school football season, here are 22 players from around the state to watch as it gets underway. This isn't a ranking of the best players, although that certainly is a consideration. It's just a list of 22 players you need to know as a high school football fan.
