GADSDEN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A woman has been arrested after a dead baby, under the age of 3, was found inside a hearse Saturday, Aug. 9 at the West Gadsden Funeral Home.

Gadsden Police say they quickly secured the scene with their patrol division once they arrived.

Police say they are investigating this as a homicide. The baby was not in a casket. Authorities confirm the baby was a girl.

The funeral home owner, Dantez Robinson, says employees were returning from a separate call when someone thought they saw a doll in the hearse, but when they opened the door they realized it was a human baby.
