A major UK retailer is closing 10 stores today (Sunday) - with 42 more of its stores to shut their doors for good in the coming weeks. Poundland will close 15 stores on August 17, and 12 on August 24, with more closures planned for later dates. ‌

This forms part of a restructuring plan that the company launched in June after it was sold to investment firm Gordon Brothers for £1. Poundland is expected to reduce its portfolio to around 700 stores, with up to 150 stores at risk of closure. ‌
