Sadler Goodwin hit three homers and drove in five runs Saturday in the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers’ 19-4 win over the Brantford Red Sox at Fergie Jenkins Field at Rotary Park.

Victor Plaz had five hits, including a grand slam, and six RBIs as the Barnstormers (22-17) moved to within a half-game of second place in the Intercounty Baseball League.

Torrin Vaselenak added a two-run homer in the Barnstormers’ highest-scoring game of the season.

Winning pitcher Mizuki Akatsuka (6-4) allowed two runs in six innings and struck out six without issuing a walk.

Goodwin opened the Barnstormers’ scoring with a three-run blast in the bottom of the first inning. He hit solo homers in the third and eighth.
